Services Not Covered by the Ontario Health Insurance Plan

Uninsured Fees (Services not paid by OHIP) – Oct. 1, 2023 – Sept.30, 2024
 

The Ontario Health Insurance Plan (OHIP) covers basic medical examinations, tests, surgical treatments and specialist consultations.

However not every service is covered by OHIP.  These are uninsured services and are an additional cost to you.

You have the option to pay for each service occurrence separately as they are incurred or pay an annual "block fee" or subscription fee.

We have listed the cost of each service below. The list is not exhaustive.  Please ask the office if there is a service that is not listed.

Block Fees/Subscription Based Plan
 

Patients have the choice to pay an annual "block fee" for the services so as not to encumber separate charges. The choice to do so is entirely at the patient's discretion. 

We have created these plans to benefit our patients and to support our clinic.

Based on the type of plan, there is a monthly fee which bills automatically every month for a minimum 12 months. 

There is also an annual fee which automatically bills every 12 months.

There is an opportunity to opt out of any billing plan once the 12-month period has completed.

Premium Plan Only

These services are only available on the premium plan and not on an individual basis.
 

• Email Notification of all results – Patients will be notified by secure email of their results and what actions to take.  This can save time by not having to book an appointment for the results.
  Note: All urgent results will be communicated regardless of the plan you are on.
   

• Text Access to Doctor – Patients can text the doctor for an urgent medical condition when they are not able to reach the office in a reasonable time.

Patients will be given a dedicated number to text for all medically urgent related problems. The doctor will call or text back as soon as possible.

This service runs 9 am to 8 pm Monday to Friday. Saturday 9 am to 3 pm.  No service on Sunday, medical education leave, vacation, and statutory holidays.

Disclaimer: The office reserves the right to cancel or change the terms of any plan at any time.  If the term changes, the patient can choose to continue the plan or opt-out and be refunded on a pro-rated basis.
